Work in Progress, it may take a long while.
I am not typically an artist whom composes collections of a specific type of art that I happen to be doing at the time. I delve into different forms and for me that keeps things exciting. What will come out next? Unfortunately in the art world this is not a very good thing. It is not viewed in the same light as I view it. Collectors want a "Collection".
I am however very VERY good at collecting "THINGS".
Inherited from my parent and theirs before them. I have developed a fondness for collections of "stuff".  You can really tell a lot about a person from their collections. They can sometimes be private collections, like a jar of belly button lint that you have been saving for 5 years.
This is my theory:
I am so immersed in this world of collecting that my art should speak how I feel about collections.
I am embarking on a new adventure. I am learning about people I thought I knew, but had no idea. I feel like when they open this world up to me I am truly seeing their spirit  or at least their obsessive compulsive behaviors.
Here are a few that I have come across already, I keeping the names a secret until I have revealed the pieces:
  • spirit Pins (I guess you would call it that)
  • Sugar Packets (cubes from restaurants)
  • Belly Button Lint
  • David Bowie Memorabilia
  • Losing Lottery Scratch off Tickets
  • Receipts for the past 5 years
  • Skulls (skeletons in general)
  • Potato Mashers
  • Mr. Peanut memorabilia
  • Fingernail clippings
  • Cut hair
  • Fans
  • Honey Bears
  • Cigarette Boxes

 Many more to come...
