January Show Flightpath 12/27/2011

Getting ready to hang art at flightpath. so much to do with the xmas rush and lack of funds. I will figure out something. I have plenty of supplies lying around. The goal is to make meaningful art at  a good price. Everyone no matter what their situation should be able to have original art in their home. If I don't sell it I will just have it lying in piles in the garage, I rather someone be able to have a piece they connect with and not be concerned whether they can afford it. If anyone sees a piece I hang at Flightpath that they love and they don't have the funds, contact me through email or phone and we can see if we can figure something out.

Resin meets my arm! 08/20/2011

I was pouring fiberglass resin onto my orange sculpture and I spilt it on my arm. Just a word to the wise, try not to do that!
It burns A LOT! It melted the first few layers of skin off my forearm. No real harm done, just put some ointment on it! Unfortunately I am afraid of the resin now and I still have to finish the sculpture. I was wearing gloves, but not the kind that go all the way up your arm. I guess it's time to invest in them.

Arthouse 5x7 05/25/2010

Went to the 5x7, 2 of the 3 pieces I brought in were up. Sold one of them. YEA!
My father's pieces however were not up.  Which was disappointing, I was really excited about having a show with my dad. :( Had a good time, the venue was incredibly hot. Sweating is in style though, right?

transfering my digital to paintings 02/04/2010

I have been quite successful so far in making my digital pictures into large paintings. I have done the bunny, lion, and ostrich with plans to do many more. I like the look of them all. They are all quite large acrylic paintings. Work on the octopus is slow, I think mainly because I do not want to go work in the garage in the rain a

OVEN HAND 09/24/2009

I believe you can start calling me crazy oven hand lady. I burnt my fingers grabbing a pan on Saturday and then I was cleaning the stove top and cut my hand on the back. I'm just having a great week.

Class was wonderful. More children this time. we worked with wax (encaustic) art. There probably needs to be a little more explanation on my part.
Other wise pretty good class.

Had a wonderful class with the kids yesterday. We made "Self Portraits". I think that some of them may have rebelled against that idea. All in all it went well. We had a few paint mishaps  (paint in mouth and on the wall) that can happen though, no worries. I am really enjoying working with them. It gives me a break from the mundane day job.

BTW. The Bacon Chocolate was surprisingly wonderful!
